Bazlur Rahman's death anniversary tomorrow
The 2nd death anniversary of Bazlur Rahman, a freedom fighter and former editor of the daily Sangbad, will be observed tomorrow.
The officials and journalists of the daily Sangbad, Bazlur Rahman Foundation and children's organisation Khelaghar will place wreaths at his grave at the Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals' Graveyard at 9:30am tomorrow.
Special doa and milad mahfil will be held at his Maghbazar residence (Falt-I/2, Ramna Apartment Complex) after Asr prayers.
He played a pioneering role in the field of objective journalism in the country and was also a role model in the profession.
He was actively involved with different democratic movements form the students' movement in 1962 to anti-autocratic movement in the '90s.
Bazlur Raman, husband of Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, passed away due to a cardiac arrest at the Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital on this day in 2008.
