6 JU students expelled
Six students were expelled from Jahangirnagar University (JU) yesterday for one year for their alleged involvement in criminal activities on the campus.
Vice Chancellor Prof Shariff Enamul Kabir said the students were expelled from JU, as they were involved in criminal as well as unruly activities on the campus.
A notice in this connection will be issued today, the VC added.
The expelled students were identified as Nahid of 32nd batch of Bangla department, Sabbir of 34th batch of History, Azibur of 31st batch of Mathematics, Sabuj of 33rd batch of Physics, Sujan of 33rd batch of Government and Politics and Asad of 33rd batch of Geological Science.
Sources said the authorities expelled the students for stabbing a student named Emon of 33rd batch of Drama and Dramatics department and leader of JU unit Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL).
