Covered van vanishes with RMG items for export
A covered van driver has allegedly fled away with around 16,000 readymade garments items on the way to Chittagong port from Gazipur.
Police arrested one of the van driver's assistants Mohammad Ashraful Hasan in connection with a case filed with Joydevpur Thana regarding the missing of RMG items.
Police said that authorities of Peak Apparels Limited in Gazipur Sadar rented a covered van (Chattagong Metro-Ta - 11-1751) to send some 30,034 baby RMG items to Patenga seaport to export. The driver and helper of the van disappeared at around 5:00am on Saturday keeping the van near a petrol pump in Narayanganj Bandar thana.
Police broke the lock of the van in the presence of the factory owner and found 16,000 pieces of the item missing which costs around Tk 23 lakh.
Chief coordinator of the factory Mohammad Abdullah Didar filed the case against the driver Nurul Islam Babul and others.
