Four N'ganj roads to be named after Language Movement heroes
Narayanganj municipality has taken an initiative to name roads under its area after the names of four Language Movement heroes in recognition to their contribution to the historic movement.
The road from Chashara Zia Hall to Ram Babur Pukur Par in the town would be named after language movement hero and organiser of the liberation war AKM Shamsuzzoha, Khanpur main road after the name of Shafi Hossain Khan, the road from Deobhog Morgan School to Palpara after the name of veteran Momtaz Begum and the Don Chamber road after the name of language movement hero Asgar Hossain Bhuiyan.
Besides, the municipal authorities also decided to name Balur Math road in the town as Language Movement Heroes Road.
Mayor Dr Selina Hayat Ivy said the municipality at its monthly meeting adopted a proposal to name four roads after the names of four language movement heroes and the proposal was sent to the local government ministry for approval.
