Yunus awarded 'Sakaal Person of the Year'

Agriculture Minister of India Sharad Pawar hands over 'Sakaal Person of the Year' award to Prof Muhammad Yunus at a ceremony in Pune recently.

Nobel laureate Prof Dr Muhammad Yunus has been awarded the first 'Sakaal Person of the Year' by Maharahstra-based Sakaal Group of Publications in India, says a press release.
Agriculture Minister of India Sharad Pawar handed over the award to Dr Yunus, the microcredit guru, at a ceremony in Pune recently.
Instituted by the Sakaal group of publications, the award carries a citation and Rs 10 lakh.
One of the most prestigious media houses in India, the Sakaal group has among its brands the highly respected Marathi newspaper 'Sakal', the English daily 'Maharashtra Herald' and Agrowon, the only agro-focused daily newspaper in India.
