Work to establish rights of grassroots people
Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque yesterday said lawyers should work sincerely to establish rights of the grassroot level people as they are not aware of their rights. The rule of law would be established it rights of this level of people are ensured, he said.
He said this while addressing a three-day workshop as the chief guest at the Khulna Circuit House conference room.
Legal Education and Training Institute and Promoting Access to Justice and Human Rights in Bangladesh jointly organised the training workshop. Barrister Amir-Ul Islam presided over the inaugural session.
BFUJ President Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, Khulna Divisional Press Club Federation President and Dainik Purbanchal Editor Alhaj Liakat Ali and Advocate Abdul Malek also spoke at the function as the special guests.
Director of Legal Education and Training Institute Kazi Reazul Huq and Joint Secretary of Ministry of Law Salma Binte Kadir also addressed the workshop.
