Four killed in road accidents
Four people were killed and nine others injured in separate road accidents in Pabna and Lalmonirhat yesterday.
Our correspondent in Pabna reports: Two people were killed and six others injured in a road accident at School Para village on Ishwardi-Lalpur road under Ishwardi upazila in Pabna yesterday.
The dead were identified as Omar Ali, 28, and Anwar Ali, 38, of Lalpur village.
Police said the accident occurred when a speeding covered van hit a Nasiman, leaving them dead on the spot and six others injured.
Police seized the covered van and arrested its driver and helper.
A correspondent in Lalmonirhat adds: Two people were killed and three others injured in a road accident at Ramonigonj Bazar on Lalmonirhat-Burimari road yesterday.
The victims were identified as Abu Torab Ali, 50, and Raju Islam, 16, son of Azibar Rahaman of Ramonigonj village.
Police recovered the bodies and sent to Lalmonirhat hospital morgue for autopsy. The injured were taken at Hatibandha upazila health complex.
Police and witnesses said the accident occurred when a truck hit a van, leaving them dead on the spot and injured others.
