Painting competition held in Thakurgaon

A painting competition for BRAC school children was held recently at ESDO Training Cetre under sadar upazila in Thakurgaon.
BRAC Education Programme, Thakurgaon unit organised the event for their pre- school and primary school children.
About 180 children from various BRAC pre-primary and primary schools in the district participated in the art competition in two groups.
Of the children, 80-pre primary children participated in the 'Ka' group. They participated in two competitions.
Another 100 children from BRAC primary school were in the 'Kha' group and participated in two competitions.
Judges selected 12 children for awards in two groups.
After the competition a discussion on 'The goal and vision of BRAC Education Programme' was held at the conference room of ESDO training centre.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Thakurgaon Munshi Shahabuddin was chief guest and District Primary Education Officer Abul Kalam Azad was special guest, while area manager of BRAC Education Programme Chinmoy Kumar Sharma presided over the meeting. The speakers also acknowledged that many nongovernmental organisations like BRAC played a significant role in increasing qualitative education.
After the discussion Deputy Commissioner (DC) Munshi Shahabuddin distributed prizes among the winners of the competitions.
