5 Rohingyas pushed back, 7 sent to jail
Alikadam police in Bandarban hill district early Tuesday arrested 15 Myanmar nationals during raids in Panbazaar Bus Stand and Burmapara areas under the upazila.
Of them, Abul Kalam, 18, Fakir Mohammad, 70, Abdul Mazid, 25, Mohamamad Hamid, 22 and Jalil Ahmed, 60 were pushed back through a border point at the Chakdhala frontier in Naikhyongchhari upazila in the same evening, said officer-in-charge of Alikadam police station Niaz Mohammad.
A case was filed under Section 14 of Foreigners Control Act, 1965 against Abdur Rahim, 22, Abdur Rashid, 21, Ziaur Rahman, 20, Hamid Hussein, 21, Abdur Rahim, 20, Peran Ali, 30 and Sabbir Ahmed, 30 and they were sent to Bandarban jail custody to take further legal measures, the OC said.
The rest three Rohingyas were set free as they produced identity cards, added the OC.
