Rajshahi continued their excellent run in the Women's National Cricket League with a resounding eight-wicket victory over Barisal at the Khulna University Ground yesterday.
The losing team had decided to bat first, but like a pack of cards they were skittled out for 59 runs in 35.2 overs. More than half of those runs came as extras as no one could register a double-digit score for Barisal. Shathira Jakir and Farhana Haque took three wickets each.
Rajshahi toppled this paltry target in just 10.2 overs, losing only two wickets.
In the other match at Khulna, Dhaka defeated Sylhet by six wickets. Batting first, Sylhet scored 116 runs before being all out in 49.5 overs. Shamima Akter was the architect of Sylhet's downfall as she took 6 wickets for 21 runs. Later Shamima guided Dhaka to an easy victory of six wickets with an unbeaten 23.
