Nine sued on charge of killing Jubo League man
Family members of a Jubo League leader Monday night filed a murder case against nine people including the victim's business associates.
Begum Momtaz Hossain Munni, wife of slain Mosarraf Hossain, joint secretary of Dinajpur unit Jubo League filed the case with Dinajpur police station.
The accused include Nasim, 42, son of Ramzan Ali of village Balubari, Jogonnath Roy, 41, son of Rakhal Chandra Roy of village Uttar Balubari and Reazul Islam Rezu, 45. Other six accused in the case remained unidentified.
Police said, on receiving a call that an accident has occurred, a police team led by sub-inspector Nasir rushed to Gopalganj village under Dinajpur Sadar upazila on December 26 night and recovered the body of Mosarraf Hossain.
The body was sent to Dinajpur Medical College and Hopstial for autopsy the same night while it was handed over to the family members the next morning.
But the family members later told a private TV channel that Mosarraf was murdered by his business associates. It prompted police administration to carry out a primary investigation.
The family members, in the case, said that Mosarraf went out of his residence on Saturday morning with his motorbike following a cell phone call and never returned home. At 9:15 at night an unidentified person called Mosarraf's wife and informed that her spouse died in a road accident.
Mosharraf's mamily alleged that the culprits killed the jubo League Leader and left the body on a road to destroy the evidence of murder and make it appear like a case of accident.
"The sequence of events and the evidence clearly indicate that Mosharraf was not killed in accident as claimed by the culprits,"a family member said.
Immediately after the incident, Mosarraf's business associates allegedly went into hiding.
Police superintendent Abu Kalam Siddique visited the spot on Sunday morning.
Contacted, Nasir Uddin, sub-inspector of Dinajpur police station said that investigation is going on and blood stained clothes of Mosarraf have been kept in custody.
