Two day fair for children in Chapainawabganj

A two-day long 'Shishu Mela ended at the bungalow of Rohonpur municipality area under Gomostapur upazila in Chapainawabganj last Saturday.
District Information Office of Chapainawabganj organised the fair with assistance of Gomostapur upazila administration. The programme was aimed at generating awareness in children's issues so that they can grow up as worthy citizens.
Lawmaker Ziaur Rahman inaugurated the fair. Nazibul Islam, additional deputy commissioner (rev) of Chapainawabganj; Khurshid Alam, chairman of Gomostapur upazila parishad and Sardar Aminul Islam, director of mass communication department and its deputy director Nizamul Kabir were present as special guests. Sazzadul Hasan, upazila nirbahi officer presided over the programme. Among others, Wahiduzzaman, information officer delivered the welcome speech and a student Sohel Rana also spoke on the occasion.
Children from different schools and kindergartens along with their guardians and teachers gathered at the fair premises in the morning. From there a large procession paraded the streets with slogans while playing musical instruments.
Speakers said that the mela would encourage the creativity of children, as well as initiate an exchange of views, boosting self-confidence.
