BNP threatens street agitation
Opposition BNP will throw street programmes in democratic way against Awami League's 'atrocity and repression' on the party's leaders and workers across the country if the ruling party does not refrain from such activities.
BNP Standing Committee member Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain made the remarks at a press conference at the National Press Club yesterday afternoon in protest against the “grabbing” of former state minister for education and BNP international affairs secretary ANH Ehsanul Huq Milan's residence in Kachua, Chandpur on December 22.
Journalists at the news conference were told that 'people of local Awami League MP Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir' occupied the house by locking up its main gate after driving out the inmates.
A demonstration will be staged in front of BNP's Naya Paltan central office today in protest against the incident.
The press meet was also arranged against 'attack, plunder, killings and terrorist activities' in Kachua by 'Awami League terrorists'.
Dr Mosharraf also narrated other incidents of killings, repression, plunder and terrorist activities in Milan's constituency since the December 29 general election day.
The BNP leader hoped that good sense would prevail upon the government and it would restrain its supporters from such heinous acts.
“Through the grabbing of ex-state minister Milan's house, violation of human rights and the fascist character of Awami League again got exposed,” said Mosharraf.
He observed that seeking justice against injustice from the present government is merely a cry in the wilderness.
Former state minister for education Ehsanul Huq Milan and his wife Nazmun Nahar Baby were present at the press conference.
