'Strengthen cultural movement to safeguard victory'

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday called on all to strengthen cultural movement in order to safeguard the victory achieved with the blood of thousands of martyred and uphold the spirit of the liberation war.
The PM made the call in a message that was read out at a cultural function organised by Joy Bangla Sangskritik Oikya Jote on the Central Shaheed Minar premises in the city.
Deputy Leader of the Parliament Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury inaugurated the function.
Speaking at the occasion, the Awami League leader called on all to take an oath to resist war criminals from their respective positions.
Sajeda, also a presidium member of the ruling party, said the quarters, which have rehabilitated the war criminals, should be placed in the dock.
AL leader Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Shahida Tareq Dipti and Joy Bangla Sangskritik Jote leader Sheikh Abdul Kader also spoke.
Artists performed songs and dance numbers and recited poems at the event.
