Doc's family blamed for death of young man

An honours final year English department student of Patuakhali Government College died at hospital on Friday night as he was allegedly made to swallow poison a few hours earlier.
The victim, Shah Ali Hossain, 22, son of Abdus Sobahan Molla of Bhuria village in Patuakhali Sadar upazila, also served as a teacher at Skylark, a kindergarten in the town.
At about 4:00pm on Friday, Shah Ali was admitted to Patuakhali General Hospital where he died at about 8:00pm, said sources at hospital and police.
Poison was found as the patient's stomach was washed, said a doctor at the hospital.
The family members of a doctor killed my brother Shah Ali by poisoning as the doctor's daughter loved Shah Ali but her family did not like it, Shah Ali's elder brother Shahadat Hossain, also a Navy staff, told journalists at Patuakhali Press Club on Saturday afternoon.
They made Shah Ali take poison in the name of giving medicine when he went to their house at about 3:00pm on Friday, he added.
An UD case was filed on Saturday with Sadar Police Station in this connection
Shah Ali' family members said they are preparing to file a murder case against the doctor's family.
The doctor and his family members were not available for comment as their rented residence and pharmacy at Katpatti in the town was found locked when this correspondent when to the house on Saturday afternoon.
"They left the house just after evening on Friday," said Ferdousi Begum Koyel, owner of the house.
