BAF member killed as train hits him
A member of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) was killed when a train hit him at Mohakhali level crossing in the city on Thursday night.
The victim, Leading Assistant Corporal (LAC) Mohammad Imran, worked in the maintenance branch at the BAF headquarters in Cantonment.
A Dhaka-bound passenger train 'Parabat Express' hit Imran when he was crossing the rail line on foot at around 9:40pm, said Nazrul Islam, assistant sub-inspector of Government Railway Police (GRP).
Quoting witnesses, he said at that time two trains were crossing each other.
Imran was thrown at a long distance when a train hit him. Local people rushed to him but found him dead.
