Boy burnt alive in Ctg

One minor boy was burnt to death and properties worth around Tk 11 lakh were gutted in two separate fires in the port city in the early hours of yesterday.
Sources said a fire broke out at some thatched houses at Moulvipara under Chandgaon Police Station at around midnight of Monday and left a five-year-old boy dead.
The victim was identified as Sakib, son of one Md Idris.
The fire also gutted five thatched houses damaging properties worth about Tk 3 lakh before the firefighters could extinguish it.
In the other fire that occurred at a godown of KDS Textiles Mills at Nasirabad Industrial Area, yarns, fabrics and other valuables worth around Tk 8 lakh were gutted.
The fire originated from an electric short-circuit at around 12:00 midnight.
The firefighters extinguished the fire at around 4:30am.
