Road accidents kill 6, injure 51

At least six people were killed and 51 others injured in separate road accidents in Savar, Pabna and Jhenidah yesterday.
UNB from Savar adds: Three people were killed and 40 others injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Aricha highway early yesterday.
The accident occurred when a Dhaka bound bus from Rangpur and a fertiliser-laden truck collided head-on near Bishail bus stand at about 4:30am, leaving three people dead on the spot.
One of the deceased was identified as Mohor Ali while identity of two others could not be known immediately.
The injured were rushed to different hospitals.
Our correspondent from Pabna reports: At least two people were killed and 10 others injured in a road accident on Pabna-Rajshahi highway under Ishwardi upazila in the district yesterday.
The accident took place when a Rajshahi-bound passenger bus hit a motorcycle at about 10:00am at Kalikapur, leaving two motorbike riders dead on the spot.
The bus fell into a roadside ditch. At least 10 bus passengers were injured. The injured were taken to Ishwardi and Pabna general hospital.
The dead were identified as Anwar Hossain, 30, son of Ajgar Ali of village Bagbaria of Ishwerdi upazila and Rustom Ali, 32, son of Hanif Sheikh of village Sengaon under Khoksha upazila under Kushtia.
Our correspondent from Jhenidah adds: One schoolboy was killed and another seriously injured in a road accident in front of Television sub-relay centre in Court Para area in the district yesterday morning.
The dead was identified as Jony Parvez, 14, of Pabahati village of Sadar upazila and the injured Saddam.
The accident occurred when a Chuadanga-bound passenger bus from Jhenidah hit a rickshaw van while they were returning home at Pabahati, leaving them injured seriously.
They are students of local Jhenidah Wasir Ali High School.
Jony and his cousin Saddam were rushed to Jhenidah Sadar Hospital in critical condition where the on-duty doctor declared Jony dead. Sadden was shifted to Dhaka as his condition deteriorated.
