Political history
The 'Golden Bengal' was the richest region in India. The 'British traders' successfully implanted the seeds of partition among us. The only way the highly cultured and treasured India could be divided was through religion, nothing else. Why do the Muslims need a separate country as masterminded by the British and engineered by Jinnah? Was Jinnah a true Muslim himself? In fact, the current Muslim population of India is bigger than Pakistan's. The only reason India is emerging as a superpower is because of its diverse and united workforce. Can West Bengal alone be a major global power? Definitely not.
I need to clarify a few facts Shafi Ahmed raised regarding the Mughal rule in India. The Mughal rule was the 'golden age' of India. They were not tyrannical Muslim preachers as he suggested. In fact the dynasty started with Babar who defeated Ibrahim Lodhi. The Mughals didn't rule for 500 years, as he suggested. It lasted from 1526 to 1857, about 330 years. They integrated with the Hindu majority and they were remarkable in creating a unique blend of 'Indian' culture that was well above the 'Hindu/Muslim' division, that the 'British traders' later created too well. The numerous fine Mughal buildings, including the famous Tajmahal, displays a unique blend of Turkish, Persian and Indian architecture.
The story doesn't end there. According to the document available in the State Library of Bhopal, Babar left the following will to Humayun:
"My son take note of the following: You should not dispense justice while taking note of the people's religious sensitivities and rites. Avoid slaughtering cows in order that you could gain a place in the natives' hearts. This will take you nearer to the people. Do not demolish or damage places of worship of any faith and dispense full justice to all to ensure peace in the country. Look at the various nature of your people just as colours of various seasons."
