Kishoreganj blockade postponed for 7 days

People of Bhairab and Kuliarchar have postponed their non-stop Kishoreganj blockade programme for seven days at the request of local lawmaker Nazmul Hasan Papon.
The lawmaker requested the agitating people to postpone the programme in view of the Bangabandhu murder case verdict scheduled for November 19.
Bhairab District Implementation Committee and All-party Action Council postponed the blockade at a press conference in Bhairab town on Sunday night.
The blockade was enforced on Friday to press the demands for upgrading the upazila to a district and arrest of those who burnt the effigy of President Zillur Rahman during hartal in Kishoreganj on November 2.
Train, bus and launch services between Dhaka and Kishoreganj via Bhairab and Bhairab-Kishoreganj launch service resumed yesterday morning.
Kishoreganj-bound express and mail trains from Dhaka arrived at Kishoreganj rail station in time. Supply of oil from Padma, Megna and Jamuna oil depots and fertiliser and food to Kishoreganj from Bhairab was normal.
