ALCWC meets today
The Awami League Central Working Committee sits today to decide the party's course of action especially ahead of and after the Supreme Court verdict in the Bangabandhu killing case on November 19.
AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to advise her central leaders in this regard and instruct the AL rank and file to monitor the country's prevailing political situation during the period.
The meeting may also ask AL leaders and activists across the country to remain alert ahead of and after the delivery of the SC verdict.
The meeting will discuss the latest political and socio-economical situations along with organisational matters, AL Deputy Office Secretary Mrinal Kanti Das told The Daily Star yesterday.
The meeting will be held at the AL chief's political office in Dhanmondi at 5:00pm with Hasina in the chair.
Sources said party activities for collecting and renewing primary membership mid-November and holding a special extended meeting in Dhaka in the third week of the month would be delayed because of the SC judgment.
AL General Secretary and LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Syed Ashraful Islam has urged all to attend the meeting on time.
