25 hurt as rival BNP men clash

At least 25 people were injured in a clash between two rival groups of BNP at Belkuchi upazila headquarters yesterday over formation of the upazila committee.
Police and party sources said the activists of the two groups--one led by Golam Mowla Bablu and another by Major (retd) Monzur Quader--attacked each other at noon, leaving 25 from both sides injured.
The injured were admitted to Belkuchi Upazila Health Complex and Sirajganj Sadar Hospital. Additional police have been deployed at the upazila headquarters.
