Oil lower in Asia
Oil fell in Asian trade Tuesday as worries over the potential threat posed by Hurricane Ida to petroleum installations in the Gulf of Mexico subsided, analysts said.
New York's main contract, light sweet crude for December delivery, fell 39 cents to 79.04 dollars a barrel.
Brent North Sea crude for December delivery was off 27 cents to 77.50 dollars a barrel.
"I don't think that Ida is seen as anything other than a short-term disruption," said David Moore, a Sydney-based commodities strategist.
