DU VC's signature forged to collect donation

An unknown organisation forged the signature of Dhaka University vice-chancellor for collecting donation from a cellphone company.
'The organisation applied to the GrameenPhone for money forging the VC's signature,' AKA Firoz, proctor of the university, said yesterday.
Sources said one person named Shamim Ahmed applied to the GrameenPhone limited for donation forging the vice-chancellor's signature for publishing a souvenir. In his application Shamim said the souvenir will be published by the organisation, Onirban, that has no existence on the campus.
It came to the notice of the university authorities yesterday when the GrameenPhone authorities contacted the VC for confirmation.
A general diary has been filed with the Shahbag Police Station in this connection.
