Seminar on new generation antibiotic held

A seminar on new generation antibiotic Gemifloxacin and Omeprazole, two anti-ulcer drugs, was held at Medical College for Women and Hospital at Uttara in the city yesterday.
Teachers' association of the college organised the seminar with its president Prof KGM Iqbal, who is also professor of Surgery department, says a press release.
Principal of the college Prof Majibur Rahman was present the chief guest.
Secretary general of the association and professor of ENT, Head and Neck surgery Prof M Alamgir Chowdhury, Prof M Raushan Ali of Medicine department, Prof Md Mostafa of Community Medicine, Prof Md Faiz of Microbiology department and Dr Pinaki Bhattacharya, chief operating officer of Popular Pharma Ltd, discussed various aspects of the drugs.
Dr SM Golam Rabbani, registrar of ENT department, and Dr Mahbuba Begum, assistant professor of Surgery department, presented two papers on Gemifloxacin and Omeprazole respectively.
