Proper practice of astrology stressed
Information Minister Abul Kalam Azad yesterday urged for proper utilisation of the astrology for welfare of mankind through proper research and practice.
Inaugurating the three-day 18th Asia Astrologists Conference at Kanchi Kancha auditorium in the city, the minister said astrology is a science and it should be practiced rightly.
The minister said astrology is being practiced in the country since the ancient era, but it was found that many astrologers give people misleading information for ill motifs.
President of City University Managing Committee and former lawmaker M Moqbul Hossain and editor of the weekly Math O Path RAM Obaidul Moktadir Chowdhury attended the function as special guests.
President of Bangladesh Astrologers Society G Kibria was in the chair while President of Asian Astrologers Congress M Anisul Haque, Secretary General Prof SKR Shastri, Harina Lal from Nepal, Executive President of Asian Astrologers Society Chitta Ramjan Achariya and Executive President of Chittagong chapter Dr Sree Ram Achariya spoke.
Mentioning the influence of astrology on the people of Bangladesh, the minister said the exact information can help people take decisions.
Such researches would help flawless application of astrology, he hoped.
Astrologers from India, Nepal, Sri Lanka Bhutan, Myanmar and Thailand are participating in the conference.
