2 more 'sedition' cases against Quader Mollah
Two more 'sedition' cases were filed against Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Abdul Quader Mollah in Madaripur yesterday, accusing him of involvement in activities against country's sovereignty and independence.
Earlier on November 8, advocate Obaidur Rahman Khan of the district Bar filed a sedition case against Quader Mollah.
Freedom fighter and Bahadurpur union parishad chairman Syed Shakhawat Hossain Selim and freedom fighter Abdul Hye filed the cases under sections 500/504 of the Bangladesh Penal Code with the court of chief judicial magistrate in Madaripur.
The statement of the cases said Abdul Quader Mollah is engaged in activities against the sovereignty and independence of the country and also active in destroying peace in the society through his 'conspiratorial' statement against the country and freedom fighters.
Freedom fighters Alamgir Hossain, Siraj Faraji, Shahjahan Hawlader, Nasir Jamadar and Harun-ur-Rashid are the witnesses of both the cases.
The plaintiff Shakhawat Hossain said, "We participated in the Liberation War in a bid to liberate the country. But Quader Mollah said some took part in the Liberation War for lust for beautiful women, some for looting assets of the Hindus and some for serving the interests of India."
"No body has the right to make such comments on Liberation War," he added.
Another plaintiff Abdul Hye said, "We want exemplary punishment of Quader Mollah.”
