Nandan’s musical soiree at Chhayanaut

As part of its regular cultural activities, Nandan held a musical soiree, titled 'Mon-er Majhey Jey Gaan Bajey', at Ramesh Chandra Dutt Memorial Auditorium, Chhayanaut Sanskriti Bhaban on October 30.
The programme featured renditions of Tagore songs -- focus was on devotion and love.
The programme began with Farah Dina Gunjan singing "Ami hridoyer kotha bolitey byakul". Next she performed "Barota peyechhi mon-e mon-e".
Nasima Khan sang "Shunil shagor-er shyamol" and "Shey amar gopon kotha".
Tania Mannan rendered "Amar ja achhey" and "Oder shathey melao". Tania's performance was followed by ABM Mahiuddin. Mahiuddin performed "Oirey tori dilo khuley" and "Ami tomar premey".
Rita Majumder, Tanzina Parveen, Roquaiya Hasina Neely and Azizur Rahman Tuhin also performed at the programme.
The soiree ended with Sushmita Ahmed singing "Amar mon-er majhey jey gaan bajey", the theme song of the event.
In between the songs Nishat Jahan recited Tagore's poems.
This was the 24th programme by Nandan. The organisation holds a musical soiree every three months, featuring songs of the five poets -- Rabindranath Tagore, Kazi Nazrul Islam, DL Roy, Atul Prasad and Rajanikant Sen. Nandan was founded in 2003 in an effort to promote upcoming singers and provide them with a platform.
