Minister urges Kazakhstan to import more medicine
Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni yesterday urged Kazakhstan to import more medicine from Bangladesh, an exportable item that has now destinations to around 72 countries including Europe, North America and Africa.
She made the call when the non-residential ambassador of Kazakhstan, Bakhtibek Shabarbayev, met her at her office in the capital.
The minister also pointed to high quality of Bangladesh products such as readymade garments, ceramics, jute and jute goods, which Kazakhs could import.
Bangladesh has a large pool of IT experts, engineers, doctors, pharmacists and nurses, she said, suggesting that Kazakhstan benefit from hiring such professionals.
During the meeting, bilateral relations and other issues like development and cooperation, trade and investment, people-to-people contact, joint commission and opening of an honorary consulate of Bangladesh in Kazakhstan also came up for discussion.
The Kazakh envoy proposed commissioning of a joint body of bilateral cooperation.
