Tk 16.6 lakh looted in city

Robbers looted cash, gold ornaments and valuables worth Tk 16.65 lakh from a house in city's Khilkhet yesterday.
A gang of eight robbers wearing masks stormed the house of businessman Muttalib at Bottola at abound 3:00am.
The robbers forced the residents of the house to give them the keys of the almirah holding them hostage at gunpoint. They looted over 50 tolas of gold, US$ 1500 sent by Muttalib's son from the USA, Tk 40,000 and two mobile phone sets tying the arms and legs of all the six family members, police said.
Police are yet to arrest anyone.
