Six houses gutted

Fire gutted six dwelling houses in Tegharia Ampara area of the district town on Saturday morning.
Locals said, the fire originated at the house of late Ershad Mia at about 9:00am and soon engulfed the adjoining houses.
On information, fire fighters rushed to the spot and doused the flame after two hours of hectic efforts with the help of local people.
Victims claimed the cash and other valuables worth about Tk 20 lakh were gutted in the blaze.
