All six DGMs transferred
All the six deputy general managers (DGMs) of West Zone Power Distribution Company Limited (WZPDCL) received their transfer order at a time on Thursday for reason not yet known.
The transfer orders were issued on Wednesday evening by the Managing Director (MD) of WZPDCL SM Haider Ali.
The six deputy general managers are Abul Kalam Azad, Anil Chandra Halder, Gourango Kumar Pande, Asim Kumar Ghose, Shibdas Sarker and Md Shariful Islam.
They have been asked to join their new places of positing with immediate effect for public interest, said the managing director.
Insiders at WZPDCL office in Khulna city termed the transfer of all DGMs at a time quite unnatural and never done before since its inception.
It may create stalemate in the works of a very important institution responsible for power distribution in 21 districts of South-Western region comprising 10 districts of Khulna division, six of Barisal division and five of greater Faridpur, they added.
When asked, Haider Ali denied allegation made by three out of six DGMs that mass transfer of very important officials have been made under political influence.
“I have issued the transfer orders as per rule of the company and not under any political pressure,” he asserted.
The six officials were posted to WZPDCL office as deputy general managers in 2006, it is learnt.
