Boy drowns in Bay, another missing

A schoolboy drowned and another went missing in the Bay yesterday.
Police and witnesses said Hannan Wasik, 13, son of Abdul Hannan of Doulatpur village in Fatikchhari upazila, drowned and his friend Shafiul Hossain, 13, son of Syed Hossain of Dewanhat in the port city, went missing as they were swimming in the sea.
Wasik and Shafiul along with 91 students and eight teachers of Meron Sun School and College of Chittagong arrived at the resort town in the morning for a picnic.
Later at about 4.30pm, the students went to the sea beach. While swimming in the Bay, Wasik and Shafiul were washed away by strong waves.
Locals found the body of Wasik floating on the sea at about 7:00pm. Shafiul remained missing as of 10:00pm.
