Ex-cadets rehabilitate 120 families in Sirajganj
Some 120 flood-affected families who lost their homesteads during the recent floods have again got their dwelling places with the help of Old Rajshahi Cadets Association (ORCA).
ORCA built 120 tin-shed houses at a cost of Tk about 12 lakh for 120 homeless families of different villages in Chhongachha, Chowbari, Maizbari, Bohuli and Shialkhol union in Sirajganj Sadar upazila.
After the recent floods that damaged thousands of houses, crops and properties in the area, many poor and ultra poor people started living amid misery as they had could not afford to build houses again.
Taking the initiative to rehabilitate the shelterless flood victims, ORCA constructed 120 tin-shed houses, each with two rooms.
ORCA President engineer Siddiqur Rahman accompanied by Major Saad Mohammad Shehab, Deputy Commander of Rab-12, recently visited the newly made houses.
