Goods train derails in Moulvibazar
Railway communications of Sylhet with Dhaka and Chittagong became disrupted as a goods train derailed in Moulvibazar yesterday.
Stationmaster of Srimongal Railway Station said two wagons of the Akhaura-bound train derailed at a place between Shamsernagar and Bhanugachh railway stations under Moulvibazar on SylhetAkhaura railway at noon, resulting in disruptions to rail services.
Following the incident, Chittagong-bound Paharika Express has been halted at Shamsernagar station and Akhaura-bound Kushiyara Express at Kulaura station.
A rescue train from Kulaura station reached the spot and started recovering the wagons.
The railway authorities hoped that plying of trains would become normal within hours.
