Kali Puja today

The Hindu community will celebrate their second largest religious festival Kali Puja today.
Kali is the symbol of Shakti (strength), the eternal energy and cosmic power
Kali puja is also known as Diwali.
The main purpose of Kali Puja is to seek help of the goddess in destroying evil, both in the outside world and within the mankind.
Main puja mandaps in the capital have been erected at Dhakeswari Temple, Jagannath Hall of Dhaka University, Ramkrishna Mission, Ramna Kali Mandir, Siddeswari Kali Mandir, Tanti Bazar, Shankhari Bazar, Bangla Bazar, Mohakhali and Farmgate.
