Ahsanullah Master's birth anniversary today

Today is the 57th birth anniversary of Shaheed Ahsanullah Master, a freedom fighter, Sramik League leader and former Awami League (AL) lawmaker, says a press release.
On this day in 1950, Ahsanullah Master was born at Haidarabad village under Pubail union of Gazipur district.
A lawmaker from Gazipur-2 constituency, he was shot dead when a gang of about 20 gunmen sprayed bullets on a rally of Awami Swechchhasebak League at a school compound near his residence in 2004.
He was a national committee member of AL, chairman of Bangladesh Institute of Labour Studies, and was involved in various social works.
His son Zahid Ahsan Russel, a former legislator, and Shaheed Ahsanullah Master Smriti Parishad General Secretary Ataur Rahman urged all to hold milads at mosques and pray for eternal peace of the departed soul.
To mark the occasion, Shaheed Ahsanullah Master Smriti Parishad, Bhawal Ideal Academy, Bhawal Forum and other organisations have chalked out various programmes including placing of wreaths at the grave of the deceased leader, milad and doa mahfils and discussions.
