Final probe report due Tuesday
The National Sports Council (NSC) is expected to submit the full report on Bangabandhu National Stadium press box collapse to its chairman next week.
NSC's probe committee has already received the lab reports of the materials from the crash site tested at the MIST (Military Institute of Science and Technology), but the reports from BUET (Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology) would be in hands on Saturday, informed NSC secretary Aminul Islam Khan yesterday.
"We haven't opened the reports form MIST. The probe committee will wait for the BUET reports and both of them will be opened together," Aminul informed.
"I hope the committee would be able to draw a conclusion of the investigation and submit a complete report to NSC chairman General Moeen U Ahmed by Tuesday," he added.
The entire roof of the press box at the BNS collapsed on October 8 during a rainstorm, just hours after the end of the Bangladesh-Tajikistan World Cup pre-qualifier.
No one was hurt but the devastation, just one and a half year after it was hastily built, stunned everyone concerned.
