Gold rises Tk 475 a bhori

Gold prices in domestic market rose again yesterday with guinea (21-carat) selling at Tk 22,114 a bhori (11.66 grams) against Tk 21,636 last month.
Executive Committee of Bangladesh Jewellery Samity (BJS) raised the prices on average of Tk 475 a bhori.
Now, 22-carat sells at Tk 23,164 a bhori against Tk 22,686 a bhori.
"We have no alternative but to increasing gold prices as the price of the metal is increasing in the world market," MA Wadud, BJS president said.
"Prices of gold in local market will increase further," he observed.
Gold price is US$ 850 per ounce (2 bhori and 10.5 ana) in the international market now.
