Eid celebration in Sirajganj by Amar Ekushey Library

Amar Ekushey Library, Sirajganj celebrated Eid with a cultural programme recently at Brahmagachha Government Model Primary School at Raiganj in the district. The daylong programme began in the morning and continued till midnight.
Singer Alok Kumar Sen and tabla player Sobuj Ahmed -- both enlisted artistes of Bangladesh Betar (radio) and BTV -- performed a number of semi-classical and raaga inspired songs and ghazal. Alok Kumar Sen rendered songs of Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty, Manna Dey, Mohammed Rafi, Niaz Mohammad Chowdhury, Subir Nandi and Kumar Sanu. Sen also performed ghazal originally recorded by Mehdi Hassan, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Ghulam Ali and Pankaj Udhas.
Tabla artiste Sobuj Ahmed performed a lahora of teen taal, based on raaga Bageshree.
Zahangir Alom, president of Amar Ekushey Library, rendered two songs of Manna Dey and Nachiketa.
Local artistes also entertained the audience with dance, drama and skits.
Rezaul Karim, Abu Bakar Siddique, Sakhawat Hussain Sweet, Zahangir Alom and Zubayer Rahman delivered welcome speeches on the occasion.
Amar Ekushey Library is dedicated to the promotion of education and culture.
