'Govt firm to fulfil polls pledges'

State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury on Sunday reiterated that the government is firm to fulfil the electoral pledges.
Speaking at a discussion on "Preventing Women Repression", she said the government wants to reach the people through deeds and development works not just by tall talks.
District Puja Udjapan Parishad organised the discussion with upazila chairman Hassan Ahmed in the chair. It was also addressed by deputy commissioner of the district Mizanur Rahman, police super Harun-or-Rashid Hazari, Chatkhil UNO ASM Shahnaz Parvez and Awami League leaders and workers.
Later, the minister went round different temples and mandops including those at Sompara, Ram Narayanpur, Khilpara and Sonaimuri.
