UK Qualifications Fair begins Nov 8
The British Council is organising the UK Qualifications Fair 2007 in Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet from November 8 to 15, says a press release.
The aim of the fair is to bring together education providers from both the countries and help serious students find out what internationally recognised qualifications are available through studying in Bangladesh.
Only a few students manage to go abroad for higher studies, but many more can pursue their qualifications locally through distance learning programmes available in Bangladesh.
The fair will introduce different locally available UK qualifications such as LLB, NCC, CIMA, CIM, ACCA, BBA, MBA, City and Guilds, BTEC and other professional qualifications.
Exams for these qualifications are managed by the British Council to ensure security and maintain standards.
Fifteen local tuition providers and four UK boards will take part in the fair.
The British Council is organising the fair annually to help update the range and choice of UK qualifications available through studying in Bangladesh.
Tapan Chowdhury, adviser to the caretaker government, will attend the inaugural function as chief guest.
In Dhaka, the fair will be held at Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre from November 8 to 9.
In Chittagong, the fair will be held at Hotel Peninsula from November 11 to 12, and in Sylhet it will be held at Nirvana Inn, Mirjajangal on November 15.
