One sued on charges of war crimes
An alleged collaborator of Pakistani occupation forces has been sued on charges of killing, looting and arson in Assassuni upazila in 1971.
The accused is Rajab Ali, son of Bashir Gazi of Basukhali village under the upazila.
Freedom fighter Joynuddin Gazi, son of Mafijuddin Gazi of Godara village, filed a petition case with the Judicial Magistrate's Court here on Thursday accusing Rajab of killing freedom fighter Babar Ali at Baikarjhhuti village on October 15, 1971.
In the petition, the complainant stated that the accused along with some Pakistani troops picked up Babar from his house on the day, took him to
Shivnali ferry ghat and shot him dead.
“They later attacked my house, looted valuables and set the house afire,” said the complainant in the petition.
