Teenagers held with Hijbut Tawhid books, leaflets
Gournadi police yesterday arrested three teenagers and two women along with some Jihadi books and leaflets of militant Islamist organisation Hijbut Tawhid from Shaora village in Sharikal union.
The arrestees are Rokeya, 11, Ankhi, 13, Sraboni, 16, Fahima, 20 and Sabina, 26.
Abdul Hye, office-in-charge of Gournadi police station, said during interrogation they confessed that they were residents of Sakokati and Sabria villages in Sharikal and engaged in propagating their party ideology in absence of male members.
They said they were followers of Bayzid Khan Ponni of Karatia in Tangail district.
The recovered materials include 17 books on Jihad, the OC said.
Police said they were yet to file any case.
