“Srotar Ashor” at Chhayanat
A musical programme titled Srotar Ashor was held on November 2 at the Ramesh Chandra Dutta Conference Centre at Chhayanat Sangskriti Bhaban, Dhanmondi. The programme, one of regular events of Chhayanat has become an attraction for the Dhakiites for its presentation, providing music enthusiasts with a quality evening. The programme is held every month, featuring performances by upcoming and prominent artistes.
The soiree included the performance by two Indian artistes-- Averee Chourey and Jayati Ghosh.
The duo presented songs and poems of Rabindranath Tagore. The performance began with a Tagore song Akash bhora shurjo tara. It was followed by a recitation of a Tagore poem Attoprokash. The artistes presented more than twenty familiar Tagore songs and poems including Kothao amar, Shurjo jokhon oste porey, Ora okaroney chonchol, Din rojoni, Amar nishitho ratero badolodhara, Jemon achho temoni esho, Mon-e porechhe, Ami kemon koria janabo, Mollika boney, Bondhu roho roho and more. The evening wrapped up with the song Amar mukti aloye aloye.
Speaking at the occasion Jayati Ghosh said, "It is a great feeling of being invited by a prominent organisation."
The artistes will be performing at a cultural programme tomorrow at 4:30 pm, as part of the ongoing five-day India Bangladesh Festival of Books and Writers, at the Central Public Library, Shahbagh. The programme is organised by the Academic and Creative Publishers Association and Indo Bangla Cultural Initiative.
