The 12th Delta Life Women's College Handball Championship begins today at the Women's Sports Complex ground with Holy Cross College taking on Siddeshwari Girl's College in the opening match.
General secretary of Bangladesh Handball Federation Asaduzzaman Khohinoor revealed this at a press conference yesterday held at the federation office in Bangabandhu National Stadium.
He also informed that eight colleges have so far enlisted their names for the meet and the number of participating teams would be declared before the start of the opening match.
Sponsors Delta Life Insurance will provide Tk 4 lakh out of the estimated budgeted amount of Tk 4.7 lakh.
Deputy managing director of Delta Life Insurance M Akram Hossain, BHF vice president principal Hamida Ali and tournament secretary M Nurul Islam were also present at the press conference.
