Schoolboy stabbed to death by fellow student

A teenage schoolboy was stabbed to death by his fellow student at Ghatail upazila in the district yesterday.
The victim was identified as Rafiqul Hassan Rabbi, 15, son of Julhas Miah of Kharabar village.
Abdul Alim Mollah, officer-in-charge of Ghatail Police Station, told The Daily Star that victim Rabbi and his killer Miraj were the students of class nine of Ghatail Cantonment Public School.
They were locked in quarrel over sitting on the same place of a bench at their school on Thursday.
Yesterday, Miraj along with his three friends called out Rabbi from a coaching class of the school and took him to adjoining Batpara area at around 10:00am.
There Miraj stabbed Rabbi with a sharp knife. He died on the spot.
Later, Miraj himself went to Ghatail Police Station and surrendered to police admitting that he had killed Rabbi.
Police rushed to the spot and recovered the body and sent it to Tangail General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police however could not arrest three accomplices of Miraj as of filing this report in the evening.
