National dialogue demanded for ending political crisis

A group of civil society organisations today called upon the government to arrange a national dialogue between politicians and civil society representatives to help resolve the ongoing violent political deadlock in Bangladesh.

Terming the current situation “unusual”, the civil society members demanded a peaceful solution to the ongoing situation in the country.

While presenting the keynote paper at a roundtable programme at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh, Nagorik Oikko Convenor Mahmudur Rahman Manna, said “Talks must be held between the representatives of political parties and people from all walks of life.”

Gano Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain and Sushashoner Jonno Nagorik Secretary Badiul Alam Majumder, among others, were present at the programme.
