Muggers snatched away Tk 25,000 from a fish trader after shooting him at Purba Rajabazar in the capital early today.
Hanif, 40, was whisked off to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
Abdul Momin, officer-in-charge of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, said a gang of muggers, numbering four to five, intercepted Hanif when he went out of his residence for Karwan Bazar around 5:00am.
They shot Hanif in his leg and snatched away Tk 25,000 from his possession, the OC said.
