Missing oil company officer found dead in Ctg after 2 days
An oil company officer was found dead yesterday two days after he went missing in Chittagong.
Jyotirmoy Sarker, 52, of Khulna, an engineer and operation manager of MJL Bangladesh Ltd, went missing on Thursday morning after he set out from his Agrabad CDA residence for his office in Patenga, said Md Nasir, a family friend, quoting the deceased's wife.
They came to know about Jyotirmoy when they contacted Patenga police on Saturday afternoon, said Nasir, adding that they had searched him in every possible place in last two days.
Abdul Baten, the CNG driver who took Jyotirmoy to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, said Jyotirmoy was unconscious when locals found him in Patenga Sea Beach area around 6:00pm on Thursday.
He was declared dead around 11:30pm the same day and the body bore no injury marks, said police.
According to the death certificate, he died from an “unknown poison”, police added.
Jyotirmoy's family will take the body today, said police, adding that they are investigating the matter.
